Overview

Trustbridge Hospice, a part of Empath Health, is seeking a compassionate Spiritual Care Chaplain to join our team in West Palm Beach.

This position is onsite and oversees our Palm Beach County Territory.

 

This role is Per Diem and hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., helping ensure patients and families receive a smooth, supportive experience during an important stage of care.

 

Since 1978, Trustbridge Hospice has cared for more than 200,000 South Florida families. As a community-based nonprofit, we provide 24/7 hospice and palliative care, along with caregiver support and bereavement services for families facing serious illness.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide compassionate, spiritual, and emotional support to patients and families that are facing end-of-life, grief, and crisis situations.
  • Coordinate spiritual care services with community clergy to ensure patients and families receive appropriate, individualized religious or spiritual support.
  • Deliver expert spiritual counseling and guidance within diverse and ecumenical settings, including care for the dying and bereaved.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and concise documentation of patient records
  • Participate in bereavement and community events, support organizational mission and goals, and adapt to environments that may include exposure to pets and smoke.

What You’ll Need:

Education/Regulatory Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Ministry from an accredited college, university or divinity school; or shall have completed at least one Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) unit with an emphasis in health care ministry in addition to applicable ministerial training and experience.

Skills:

  • A minimum of 1 year of related full time experience in pastoral service to individuals and families.
  • Expertise in spiritual counseling, crisis intervention, family systems, grief resolution and ministry of ecumenical settings.
  • Experience in spiritual care for the dying and bereaved.
  • Works effectively under stress.
  • Ability to provide accurate, clear and concise documentation for patient charting.
  • Attend Bereavement or Community events held off-shift which support organizational mission and goals.

Professional Requirements:

  • Self motivated, creative, flexible, nurturing, and articulate.

Language Skills:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
