Responsibilities

Hours of Operation: 8:30 AM- 5:00 PM 

  • Oversees the Medical Administration Department, providing administrative direction and coordination.

  • Supports daily operations of the medical practice.

  • Collaborates on the development and execution of physician and APRN documentation and orders for quality best practices in hospice and palliative medicine.

  • Monitors productivity.

  • Works with the medical education department.

  • Ensures accurate documentation for the recertification of terminality and face-to-face visits.

  • Collaborates with Physician Scheduling Coordinators to ensure timely scheduling and completion of face-to-face visits by hospice physicians and APRNs.

  • Communicates with other departments regarding certification of terminality and face-to-face visits.

  • Participates in quality assurance activities related to clinical documentation.

  • Assists with bill holds and coding disputes.

  • Manages Medical Staff payroll and acts as a liaison to the Medical Staff.

  • Conducts document reviews, collects data, analyzes trends, and identifies areas for process improvement.

  • Serves as a resource for Medical Staff Leadership.

Qualifications

  • Licensed as a RN in Florida, BSN degree preferred, certification in health care quality (CPHQ) desired.
  • Minimum of 2 years of healthcare quality, home health or hospice experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of clinical aspects of patient care and compliance principles; working knowledge of process improvement methodology and tools.
  • Knowledge of all federal administrative and clinical regulations that govern the full scope of the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience with oral and written communication, ability to work 1:1, facilitate groups and cross functional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience with developing and preparing training materials and conducting small training sessions. Oral and written communication, ability to facilitate groups and work with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office products.
