Pay range:  $84k - $105k based on experience

Hospice nurses provide end of life care to help ensure the comfort and quality of life for their patients.  They primarily work in collaborative, team-driven environments that require frequent communication with their patients, families and other caregivers.  The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, patient and calm.  Hospice nurses are caring and kind individuals who possess a special hospice heart who can help our patients celebrate the rest of their life’s journey.

Responsibilities

 

Hours of operation:  9pm - 7:30am and every other weekend

 

JOB SUMMARY

  1.  Serves as a team leader in supervising, assessing, planning, guiding and evaluating patient care. 
  2. Interacts with management, physicians, and field staff utilizing a teamwork approach. 
  3. Assists with training and evaluation of all team clinical personnel; and maintenance/development of the clinical record.
  4. Processes all Electronic Medical Record workflow from Admission to Discharge.

Qualifications

 

  1. Education/Regulatory Requirements:
    • RN degree from a college or university, accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing and/or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education preferred.
    • Currently licensed and registered in the State of Florida.
    • BSN and/or Hospice certification preferred.
    • Current Basic Life Support Certification.
  2. Skills:
    • Two years of recent oncology, medical/surgical, or home health, public/health experience.
    • Expertise in support skills, palliative care, and educational techniques. 
    • Long term care experience preferred.
    • Ability to supervise other Hospice care personnel.
    • Able to coordinate with other health care providers in the delivery of patient care.
    • Able to work effectively with lay and professional volunteers.
    • Flexible, creative, assertive, articulate, nurturing and self-nurturing.
    • Homecare Homebase software experience a plus.
    • Able to work well under stress and deadlines.
    • Demonstrates organizational, administrative and personnel management skills.
  3. Professional Requirements:
    • Communicates clearly and effectively in writing and verbally.
  4. Language Skills:
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
