Responsibilities

 

  • The Grief Care Manager is responsible for providing oversight regarding the coordination and evaluation of all services provided by the Grief Care Division.
  • The Manager is an active formal mentor and supervisor to other grief care staff, providing support, teaching, and guidance.
  • The manager provides ongoing evaluation to colleagues, including completing all performance appraisals.
  • Responsible for implementing the organization’s strategic goals, assessing productivity and service delivery of the counseling staff. 
  • Works with community partners, including managed care providers, to expand access to care. 
  • Assists with grant writing, budget development, and securing additional funding for the program.
  • The manager is responsible for managing the program budget, meeting all financial goals, and following up as needed.
  • Must have strong strategic and business skills.
  • The Manager may also maintain a small client caseload
  • Collaborate with the Senior Vice President of Community Services in the daily operations and in setting the strategic priorities of the department
  • Establish annual goals for the grief care programs consistent with the overall strategic plan of the agency
  • Initiate and develop continuous quality improvement procedures and tools to ensure ongoing highest standard of care for all clients and families
  • Monitor staff efficiency, productivity, budget effectiveness, and cost containment and take action to remedy deficiencies
  • Assess program to determine any area of need. Develop new programs and services based on identified need and revenue to support new services. Work with community/business partners to ensure integration of care delivery.
  • Assist with securing all avenues of reimbursement, including grant funding, and third party payers
  • Develop an annual budget for grief care services and maintain program within budget
  • Responsible for screening, interviewing, selecting, orienting, and evaluating staff
  • Assure quality and integrity of all clinical records as appropriate for this spectrum of programs
  • Actively participate in all management and departmental meetings
  • Serve as a resource to clinical staff within Empath Health and the community about the developmental needs of grieving children
  • Develop and coordinate bereavement groups, retreats, and workshops
  • Provide supportive services through individual, family, and group modalities
  • Serve as lead contact for any requested crisis interventions in the service area

 

Qualifications

 

Education/Regulatory Requirements:

  • Required to have one of the following credentials:
  • Licensed in the State of Florida in one of the following
    • Social Work (LCSW), Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or has applied for one of the above licenses and will be licensed in the State of Florida within 90 days of hire.
  • May also be:
  • License eligible (Registered Intern) in the State of Florida in one of the following:
  • Social Work (RCSWI) or
  • Mental Health Counselor (RMHCI) or
  • Marriage and Family Therapist (RMFTI) or
  • Has applied for one of the above licenses and will be licensed as a registered intern in the State of Florida within 90 days of hire
  • May be a certified Child Life Specialist.

Skills:

  • Minimum of three (3) years paid clinical experience in the provision of direct services and two (2) years paid experience in human services administration preferred
  • At least one year of social work/counseling experience in a healthcare setting (the one-year Masters level internship would meet this requirement).
  • The ability to type 25 wpm is highly preferred. Must receive a passing grade on a pre-employment computer literacy evaluation.
  • Previous experience in the strategic design and implementation of human service programs and proven ability to manage these programs for quality and cost effectiveness preferred
  • Previous experience in grant procurement and management preferred.
