Responsibilities

Hours of operation:  8:30am - 5pm

  • The Physician Scheduler II position is the senior scheduling position that coordinates directly with physicians to manage their daily/weekly schedules, schedules patients and caregivers for the physician visit, and processes staffing of face to face visits in coordination with Qlikview data to ensure EOE visit requirements are met.
  • The PSC II maintains communication and coordination with the department managers and executive leaders, physicians, team supervisors and nurse practitioners.
  • They process clinical communications to the team physician(s) to "de"schedule due to attrition, discharge, or requests to change existing appointments.
  • Ensures that communications from patients, other physicians and caregivers are relayed in a timely manner.
  • The PSC II also manages administrative work for the Medical Administration department and is crosstrained to cover other departmental operational tasks including palliative billing.
  • Oversees Complex Case Management; recording its metrics and updating the demographic spreadsheet.
  • The PSC II also works with departmental live data tracking report by managing the data in this worksheet with information regarding new admits, death notifications and last seen visits.
  • This high paced position provides essential support to the medical administration department's success and directly affects the corporate F2F elements for daily CMS billing and revenue processes.

Qualifications

 

  1. Education/Regulatory Requirements:
    • An A.A. degree in Health Administration, Office Management, Medical Records, Business or a related field is preferred.
  2. Skills:
    • Minimum two years previous experience in medical /clinical setting required
    • Previous physician office experience required.
    • Previous physician scheduling experience strongly preferred.
    • Must have a working knowledge of medical terminology
    • Must be able to follow a defined list of tasks and follow the established procedures completing them in a timely fashion.
  3. Professional Requirements:
    •  Exceptional tech and communication skills required
    • Must be organized and have the ability to work independently to manage follow up requirements and multi-task various skills throughout the day, often switching from one to the other at a moment's notice
    • Must have excellent computer skills (Excel, Windows, MS Office) with the ability to enter at least 40 CWPM and be willing and able to learn new computer software package
    • Must have excellent communication skills and phone presentation in interactions with patients and staff.
    • Must be able to prioritize and organize workload, work with minimal supervision, organize and complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner
    • Demonstrated skills in effective written and verbal communication.
